Read the first pages of 30 Days to Peace.

 A Creative Journey to Peace

In our loud and busy lives, it’s easy to miss the life-giving breeze of peace. That’s what this interactive journal is for. It’s about slowing down and taking time to pursue and embrace peace. It’s about welcoming the call to be a peacemaker. It’s about finding a peace rooted in faith rather than circumstances and living out that miracle every day. This is an invitation to create, write, doodle, and draw your way into the deep, lasting peace of God.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
—Galatians 5:22–23

As the years pass Rose continues to beckon Joel to join life again, to take joy in his growing children, and to awaken his heart to the possibility of new love. Joel, too, hopes [ … ]

More than Just “Getting In” Through the Pearly Gates

“Having faith, beliefs, and convictions is a great thing, but your life is measured by the actions you take based upon them. You can build a great life around those things you believe and have faith in. I’ve built mine around my belief that I can inspire and bring hope to people facing challenges in their lives. That belief is rooted in my faith in God. I have faith that He put me on this earth to love, inspire, and encourage others and especially to help all who are willing to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I believe that I can never earn my way to heaven, and by faith I accept the gift of the forgiveness of sins through Christ Jesus. However, there’s so much more than just “getting in” through the Pearly Gates. It is [ … ]

Attraction to Simpler Life, Simpler Times… Simpler Choices?

When I borrowed the boxed set of Little House novels nearly twenty-five years ago, the nine books were in pristine condition. The butter-yellow paperbacks with firm spines and colorful Garth Williams-illustrated drew me in like a fly to salt pork. And instead of taking tender care of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s novels, I read them to pieces, literally. I had to buy a replacement set for my cousin, and I continue reading that old, ratty set to this day. True confession…it wouldn’t be unusual to find a tattered copy of Little Town on the Prairie in my bedside book pile.

Our family also watched the Michael Landon television show.  It ran on Monday nights and later, in rampant syndication, and I can recount so [ … ]
