I think Jud has some good thoughts here, and the main problem is that Chrisitans
are not in the Word enough to KNOW WHO GOD is! We live in a society fraught with focus on the “self”and the desires of our
flesh. When we really begin to study God’s
Word and focus on Him, our whole perception of everything changes. We see
we are not in this world just to live for ourselves, but for the God Who made us for Himself.
