Three WaterBrook Multnomah Books Receive ECPA Sales Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (May 11, 2015) – Two WaterBrook Multnomah children’s books and one popular Christian Living title were honored with ECPA Sales Achievement Awards during the ECPA Awards banquet on May 5, 2015. God Gave Us You (2000) by Lisa Tawn Bergren and Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World (2000) by Joanna Weaver were presented with the Platinum Award for exceeding 1 million copies in sales. God Gave Us Christmas (2006) by Lisa Tawn Bergren received the Gold Award for exceeding more than 500,000 copies sold.  The Gold and Platinum Book Awards recognize sales achievements in Christian literature. Awards are presented annually at the ECPA Leadership Summit.

The God Gave Us series began in 2000 with God Gave Us You and grew to include eight unique titles, two board book versions for younger children and several special editions. In each book, Bergren’s charming polar bear family patiently answers Little Cub’s questions about life, family, and faith. The kid-friendly explanation of Christian beliefs combined with beautiful illustrations has made this series a favorite with both parents and children. The latest book, God Gave Us Sleep, will be released in September.

Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World is the first book in Weaver’s nonfiction trilogy about the three siblings from Bethany. It was followed by Having a Mary Spirit (2006) and Lazarus Awakening (2011). A popular teacher, Weaver has spent the last fifteen years writing about the lives of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. The DVD and Bible study resources for Having a Mary Heart and Having a Mary Spirit are perennial favorites about Bible study groups. Her years of study culminate this July in the release of the DVD and Bible study curriculum for Lazarus Awakening, filmed on location in Israel.
