NEWS: Shaunti Feldhahn Featured on WomensHealthMag.com

WomensHealthMag.com recently featured best-selling author Shaunti Feldhahn and the amazing discoveries of her latest book, The Good News About Marriage: Debunking Discouraging Myths About Marriage and Divorce

In an article entitled “The Divorce Rate Is Much Lower Than You Think: This new research might be the most exciting thing you read all day,” reporter Casey Gueren writes, “Feldhahn classifies that as the percent of marriages that have ended in divorce, and that’s the number that has never gotten anywhere close to 50 percent. According to 2009 data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the average percent of all marriages that have ever ended in divorce is 30.8 percent, says Feldhahn.”

NEWS: Shaunti Feldhahn Interviews with CBN

Best-selling author Shaunti Feldhahn’s newest book, The Good News About Marriage: Debunking Discouraging Myths about Marriage and Divorce, was featured on CBN.com in an article entitled “Divorce Shocker: Most Marriages Do Make It.”

Writes reporter Paul Strand, “This Atlanta-based couple often quoted in their writings and at conferences what they thought was accurate research: that most marriages are unhappy and 50 percent of them end in divorce, even in the Church. ‘I didn’t know,’ Feldhahn told CBN News. ‘I’ve stood up on stage and said every one of these wrong statistics.'”

“‘First-time marriages: probably 20 to 25 percent have ended in divorce on average,’ Feldhahn revealed. ‘Now, okay, that’s still too high, but it’s a whole lot better than what people think it is.’ Shaunti and Jeff point out the 50 percent figure came from projections of [ … ]

I recently read I Like Giving by Brad Formsma. It’s a book of stories from Brad and others about, well…giving. Most of the books you’d read on giving are about the theology of giving, tips on giving, or unpacking why we give. So when I started reading I Like Giving, I figured I wasn’t in for any earth-shattering discoveries. I Like Giving Book Cover

Most “giving” books have a way of making you feel guilty. What I found is I Like Giving did the exact opposite. It was refreshing, encouraging, and freeing. [ … ]

Author Tommy Barnett discuss his new book The Power of A Half Hour on FoxNews.com

Tendering

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6

I’ve always liked words and discovering their origins and fascinating meanings. I was once told that Deuteronomy in Hebrew meant "These are the words." The word parable is said to come from the Hebrew meaning pebble as in "a stone tossed along beside."  Good words do that I think: they come along beside us to bring us wisdom and nurture. Sometimes even the title of stories bring us insights.

While writing the second in the Change and Cherish trilogy based on a Christian communal society of the 1850s the publishing team and I brainstormed a title eventually choosing A Tendering in the Storm. [ … ]

The article entitled “Want a Happy Marriage? 5 Simple Things Men Need From Their Wives and 5 Simple Things Men Need From Their Wives” offers ten slides from Feldhahn for both husbands and wives in how to make their marriage stronger.

For example, “Most of us think grateful thoughts but don’t actually say thank you,” Feldhahn says. “In my survey, this mattered to nearly all men, with 72 percent saying it deeply pleased them when their wife or girlfriend gave them props for their hard work. In fact, ‘thank you’ appeared to be the guy’s equivalent of ‘I love you.'”

Sweeter than Honeycomb

Are you facing stress, burnout, or depression beyond what you think you can bear? If so, there’s a good chance you know exactly what it feels like to crave sweet relief. Sure, you can turn to chocolate or temporary, feel-good fixes the world offers. But for lasting relief – eternal relief – there’s something that is sweeter and more satisfying even than honey.

These are the exact words that King David used to describe the effect that the Word of God had on his trouble spirit: “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103). And in Proverbs 4:20-22, King Solomon wrote that wise words are to be hidden deep within our hearts “for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body.”
