Best-selling author on habits and happiness Gretchen Rubin recently interviewed Joshua Becker, author of The More of Less: Finding the Life You Want Under Everything You Own. Rubin asked Becker about the choices and habits he follows as an advocate of simple living, or what is often referred to as minimalism.
Eight years ago, Becker discovered minimalism and founded the popular website BecomingMinimalist.com, where a large community has grown of people who want to downsize their possession in order to increase their quality of life. Becker shares what he and others have learned about the rich benefits of living with less in his new book The More of Less.
In response to Rubin’s interview question”Do you embrace habits or resist them,” Becker responded: “Minimalism served as a catalyst to embrace greater intentionality in all areas of my life. Eight years ago, I would never have responded to this question by saying I embrace habits. But today, I do. In fact, I see them as essential to living my fullest life possible.”
