Experiencing Friendship with God

How the Wilderness Draws Us to His Presence

Faith Eury Cho

About Experiencing Friendship with God

Build a confident friendship with Jesus using practical techniques backed by timeless wisdom to carry you through seasons of difficulty and back to abundance—from pastor and speaker Faith Eury Cho.

“A kind guide to help us explore the riches of our friend and Savior, Jesus . . . You’ll love this book.”—Jess Connolly, author of You Are the Girl For the Job and Breaking Free From Body Shame

In tough times, we can become more familiar with pain than progress and more acquainted with loneliness than companionship. But what if the purpose of our faith is not to reach the Promised Land but to recognize that God is with us in our lowest moments and times of our own personal wilderness?

In Experiencing Friendship with God, speaker and pastor Faith Eury Cho draws on ancient wisdom about intimacy with God to help us cultivate a relationship with Him, even among all the complications of today’s world. With practical ideas and stories from her own spiritual journey, Faith explores how to

• trust God when life is overwhelming
• pray when you don’t feel like you have the words
• keep faith when God feels silent
• continue to focus on the hope we have in Jesus

If knowing the Presence of God is our greatest desire, then every season of our lives has significance—even the lowest. Only then do we realize that the purpose of each moment is God Himself.

And when we do that, we will understand that we were never without Him after all.

Christine Caine, founder of The A21 Campaign and Propel Women

International Speaker, CEO, and Mom of Four Coaches Believers through their Wilderness Seasons Into an Authentic and Powerful Friendship with God

With concise writing, deep reflection, and insightful biblical teaching, international speaker, CEO, and mother of four, Faith Eury Cho’s highly anticipated debut Experiencing Friendship with God: How the Wilderness Draws Us to His Presence (WaterBrook; 10/17/23) helps believers see how fulfilling a genuine connection with the Lord can be, especially during seasons of pain, loneliness, and questioning what it means to live for a holy God.

Throughout the book, Cho also shares wisdom from seventeenth-century Brother Lawrence’s classic The Practice of the Presence of God alongside spiritual insights learned from being an overwhelmed mother of four young children and planting a church with her husband just as the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Additionally, she revisits Moses’ and Israel’s journey in the wilderness and Paul the Apostle’s prison experience, illustrating that God’s presence with us is enough.

Readers can expect to find solace and guidance as they turn these pages, as her writing provides practical tools to help anyone embark upon or deepen their intimacy with God.

Experiencing Friendship with God helps answer important questions believers are asking, such as:
·       How can I move forward during seasons of wandering?
·       How can I understand and accept my spiritual longings?
·       How can my faith deepen when my prayers aren’t answered?
·       What does a life centered around His presence look like in today’s complicated world?

If we live to know Him, then even the wilderness of the soul cannot extinguish our faith. It is the answer to an increasingly burnt out, deconstructing Church that struggles to know the worth of Christianity,” Cho writes.

Faith—who is also co-founder and co-pastor with her husband David of Mosaic Covenant Church in New Jersey—reminds believers that their purpose is not to reach a Promised Land on earth but to recognize that God is with them in the wilderness and that they were created for His presence.

Readers will come away both challenged and refreshed as they learn to practice—and delight in—the  Presence of God in their everyday lives.
