About Be the Difference Monthly Planner

Identify the issues that matter most to you, create a plan of action, and make the impact God wants you to make—locally, nationally, and globally—with this undated, guided twelve-month planner.

All too often, the news is filled with heart-wrenching stories of poverty, injustice, inequality, fear, prejudice, divisions, and more. You may want to help fix the brokenness and change the world, but may not know where to start.

In Be the Difference Planner, you will find the motivational strategies and organizational tools to identify the issues that matter most to you. Then, using the planner’s practical guides and insightful reflections, you can map out intentional steps to create a meaningful impact, both at home and on a global scale.

Special features and tools that will instruct and enable you to be the difference include:
  • overviews of several current issues that have always been on God's heart and should be on ours as well—such as poverty, racial reconciliation, homelessness, fostering, and human trafficking
  • monthly spreads to organize and view a month at a glance and refreshing monthly check-ins for guarding against burnout
  • brainstorming and vision board pages for narrowing advocacy goals and focus
  • profile spotlights on leaders and advocates who are already established voices in different humanitarian spaces
  • a log for tracking taxable gifts and donations throughout the year
  • space to record and reflect on any articles, blogs, books, films, or other media that speak to your topic of focus
  • line art throughout
  •
God has called us to love those around us. In our broken and hurting world, redemption is still part of His plan, and it’s time to be the difference.

BE THE DIFFERENCE MONTHLY PLANNER: Serve Others & Change the World

From Ink & Willow / On sale August 9, 2022
Ink & Willow’s New Planner Inspires Missional and Social Justice Action

This August, Ink & Willow, the creative line in Penguin Random House's WaterBrook imprint, is introducing the Be the Difference Monthly Planner (on sale 8/9/22), a guided journal designed to help individuals identify and act on issues that matter most to them. Created for interactivity and with spiritual and personal growth in mind, the planner offers inspiration for the everyday practice of creatively-minded Christians.

With the rise of recent news stories about fear, prejudice, poverty, and inequality, many are experiencing an overwhelming sense of sorrow and helplessness. As believers, we know we have been called to do something about the broken parts of the world, but too often we don’t know where to start. Fortunately, this undated, 52-week monthly planner acts as a powerful first step we can take toward strengthening our advocacy skills.

“We created Be the Difference due to a gap we perceived in the market around action-focused, social justice planners from a faith-based perspective,” explains Ink & Willow editor Leslie Calhoun. “Some of the greatest humanitarian movements in history have been started by remarkable people of faith—from the abolition of slavery and racial oppression to child labor, housing, and prison reforms. Even with all the great work that has been done, there’s still more to do, and as the people of God, we are called to be missionally-minded and to love our neighbors well. Our hope is that this book will help in some small way by encouraging readers to plan prayerfully and take purposeful action.”

With features including “quarterly check-ins,” “advocate profiles,” and a “donation tracker,” this practical and motivating resource provides the space and tools necessary when mapping intentional steps to create an impact locally, nationally, and globally.
