When I was pregnant last year, I had a fear running wild in my mind. Being 36, I was told the baby could have Down Syndrome due to my age. I also feared that I may have hurt the baby when I took some prescription medication known to be harmful during pregnancy before I knew I was pregnant. Although I would keep my baby no matter what, I was afraid of the unknown. I spend a lot of time worrying, even before this pregnancy. I know Iâ??m...
Breaking Free From Fear A 6-Week, no-homework Bible study Iâ??ve heard good things about Kay Arthur, so when I had the opportunity to read and review one of her books I jumped at the chance. Granted, this is not a full fledged, narrative style, exposition of a topic; itâ??s a question and answer style study. It doesnâ??t reveal her skill as a writer, but it does reveal a part of her theology. If the validity or accuracy of some of...
"Breaking Free from Fear" by Kay Arthur is a 6-week, no homework Bible study, full of wonderful tools to combat the fears that many of us face on a frequent basis. Digging deep into the scriptures, Kay uses methodical study methods to take you through the weekly lessons. Each lesson begins with a brief introduction and leads into the scripture reading for that week and study questions for group discussion. The questions begin first by...
This study is excellent. The study by Kay is composed as a 6-week, no-homework study meant for groups. Although I did not do this in a group, I felt that it was definitely still worth while to complete on your own. Each week is broken down into Observe & Discuss portions. These would be perfect for small groups. You walk through a portion of scripture, observing and marking the text in true Precept form, and then she poses questions...
I have to say I really love Kay Arthur and Breaking Free from Fear is no exception. This is a 6 week study for small groups although I believe you could do it as an individual study. I do think you would glean more from a group with the discussions. I read through them but didnâ??t do the study. I love the way they are laid out. Each week has the scripture that goes along with the lesson, and observation (what you should be looking for),...
