About The Christmas Singing
Experience the holidays with the Plain folk and discover the power of second chances in this touching story from the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Bridge of Peace.
Gideon Beiler has loved Mattie Eash since they were children. But when faced with unexpected circumstances, he makes up an excuse to end their engagement. He doesn’t want to lie to her, but he believes that telling Mattie the truth will be more hurtful.
Brokenhearted, Mattie moves from Apple Ridge, Pennsylvania to Ohio, where she pursues her longtime dream of becoming a cake decorator. She finds a new beau—a man offering the secure relationship Gideon has denied her.
When Mattie is forced to return to Apple Ridge, she and Gideon must confront the suffering created by his dishonesty--and address the powerful emotions that continue to bind the two childhood friends.
After Gideon coldly broke her heart, can the warmth of the season revive Mattie’s faith in love?

After Gideon coldly broke her heart, can the warmth of the season revive Matties hopes?
Mattie thought her childhood sweetheart Gideon adored her until his actions proved otherwise. Three years have passed and Mattie wonders - can the beauty of this Christmas restore her faith?
It's always a wonder that someone can pack so much information with such few words. And yet Ms. Woodsmall does it in this book. She has made us fall in love with each of the characters and find a meaningful story with those few words. Sometimes lying seems to be the easy way out and as Christians we should know better, but sometimes we just don't listen to God. It's the same as forgiveness...hard to forgive but being Christlike we should...
What a wonderful story! What wonderful characters! When you get started, â??"The Christmas Singingâ? may not seem like a great story for a while but trust me when I tell you that this book is worth finishing! â??"Cindy Woodsmall has again captured our hearts with wonderfully colorful characters in the Amish community of Apple Ridge, Pennsylvania" The story deals with something that is very different than what we think of as the...
I'm not usually one for Christian fiction or Christian romance books. I've read a few Amish romance novels and I couldn't ever connect with the characters. My own life seems so far removed from the characters in these kinds of books, so normally I don't really have a frame of reference to go with. So I don't really know why I picked this book to review but I'm glad I did. This is a light easy read with characters that are real and flawed...
Cindy Woodsmall has done it again. She has written another great Amish book that was difficult to put down when I got it. It's hard to believe that Christmas is just a little over 6 months away but I have greatly enjoyed this book. I love reading books about the Amish and loved reading about this one. "The Christmas Singing" is a heartfelt book that I could not put down and it only had 189 pages in the book which meant that in one day I...
The Christmas Singing, by Cindy Woodsmall, is an Amish stand alone novella but features the reappearance of characters from other novellas. And even though not a lot is written about Christmas itself, the story is still delightful and entertaining. The Christmas Singing is about Mattie Eash's new life three years after a devastating breakup with her childhood boyfriend, Gideon Beiler. Mattie moved from her home in Pennsylvania to her...
