IF:Gathering Founder Jennie Allen Signs With WaterBrook Multnomah

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 27, 2016)—Jennie Allen, founder and visionary for IF:Gathering, has signed a multiple book deal with WaterBrook Multnomah, imprints of Crown at Penguin Random House. The first as of yet untitled book is scheduled to release on January 31, 2017, in print and digital formats, to coincide with the fourth IF:Gathering Conference on Feb. 3-4, 2017.

 Allen is a well-respected speaker, Bible study teacher and author. She created the DVD-based Bible studies Stuck: The Places We Get Stuck and the God Who Sets Us Free, Chase: Chasing After the Heart of God, Restless: Because You Were Made for More and the trade books Anything: The Prayer That Unlocked My God and My Soul and Restless: Because You Were Made for More (Thomas Nelson). Best-selling author Sigmund Brouwer has received the 2015 Alberta Reader’s Choice Award for his historical novel Thief of Glory (WaterBrook Press). According to Fox News, Bucks County Community College Professor Dwight “Mitch” Anderson was fired for his faith after he bought copies of How Good Is Good Enough by Andy Stanley and offered them to his students. Professor Anderson said that he told his students they could take a book if they wanted to or not, there was no pressure to take a copy whatsoever. About two weeks later a student called and was told Professor Anderson that he wanted his grade raised otherwise he would report him to the dean about the copy of How Good Is Good Enough that was offered to the student. The professor was reprimanded by the dean and later was ultimately fired for offering a copy of Andy’s book to his class.

“Called for Life” Author Interviewed on PBS NewsHour

Dr. Kent Brantly, author of Called for Life (WaterBrook Press, July 2015) appeared on PBS NewsHour August 10th. In an interview with Hari Sreenivasan, Brantly spoke candidly about his initial diagnosis with Ebola, his nationally covered journey from Liberia to Emory Hospital in the United States and his decision to take Z-Mapp, a new drug never before tested on humans.

Brantly also shared his struggle to understand why he survived when so many people did not. While Brantly’s faith is an integral part of his life, he doesn’t believe something unique about his faith that led to his survival.
