In his book Hope, Help and Healing for Eating Disorders, Dr. Jantz, PhD with Ann McMurray, brings one on a journey of self-exploration. When I was 16 my cousin, Shannon, died from anorexia. She was 27 years old. I didn't really understand it. My cousin and I were not very close, mainly because her family lived a five hour drive from mine and she was 11 years older than me. I remember her as a talented artist, a fun and very likable woman....
This book is truely informative. I did not know much about eating disorders before reading this book and as a future youth pastor I am so thankful for this book. Not only am I aware of these disorders but I am also aware of how to help and what to do if I encounter someone who is struggleing with this. This book shares five often-overlooked nutritional keys to recovery, how to let go of anger, fear, and guilt, tools for creating a binge-free...

That being said, I was a little disappointed to see that this book wasn't meant to help me with that. I don't mean that it's a bad book, just not what I was hoping for. However for the purpose that it was written for, I would say it does a good job. Dr....
I requested this book knowing that it isn't my typical style. As a reader of theologies and Christian philosophers, I requested "Hope, Help, and Healing for Eating Disorders" as an opportunity to stretch myself. Pleasantly surprised, I found the book to be easy to read and engage with. While I could not connect well with the target audience (I have never had an eating disorder) I appreciated the counseling perspective the book gave me....
As anyone who knows me is aware, I am a part of that group of people who have had a lifetime struggle with weight and eating issues. I do not have much of a problem admitting this, because this fault is an obvious one. And I know I'm not alone. In the book HOPE, HELP, & HEALING FOR EATING DISORDERS, Dr. Gregory Jantz explores the many disorders associated with eating such as bulimia, anorexia, and other compulsive eating problems. A...
