SNEAK PEEK: Radical by David Platt

sneak-peak_1852What part of the Gospel is optional?

Download and read the first chapter of RADICAL by David Platt.

In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple—then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as  a “successful” suburban church decides to get serious about the gospel according to Jesus.

Wow, the first chapter really made me think. David Platt will be at FBC in Spd. at 9;15 and Pinnical Hills at 10:55. Cant wait to hear him in person!

Having just read the first chapter, I think I can say we have finally got a book that will make some changes in the life of Christianity in America. David Platt is going to be a strong voice for radical change in the Christian community. Can’t wait to read the rest!

  • Tammy Willyard

WOW!!! My head is spinning. However, I knew that there must be more in depth meaning in what Jesus is trying to tell us. I am so looking forward to and excited to read more of David’s book. He is so right on in what he says about Christianity in America.

The first chapter of this book leaves me wanting more! Yet, it is a little scary – the way a new experience is scary. The knowledge that it will not be easy or comfortable, the anticipation of adventure and the reward of accomplishment …..because I do not think I will be able to read this book without being impacted by the challenge. It won’t be enough to just read it, I’m sure.

  • Torey Hammett

    Man……Challenging to say the least.
GO, SELL, GIVE, COME, FOLLOW!! I am always challenged by David Platts sermons and now a book……I can’t wait to read the rest.

  • John Eichholz

Reminds me of another book about ‘radical’ desicipleship published in 1988, ‘The Gospel According to Jesus.’ Glad that others are finding the same message today and are willing to proclaim it to distinte-grating culture!

  • Carol Thornton

Amazing…put in simple words that make you want to believe and follow. I love David’s messages and now I can’t wait to share this one with everyone I know. The first Chapter is only the beginning of a wonderful journey–can’t wait for the rest…

Having just begun a series of messages on the hard sayings of Jesus, “Hard Truths”, I read the small booklet that I received in the mail yesterday. David Platt’s book confirmed what I preached last week about Jesus requirements for the rich ruler. Platt reminds us that Jesus calls for something greather than saying a prayer, but for choosing a radical lifestyle.

wow, eye opening book! Go sell all you have and in return Christ will build your treasures in Heaven. Our 21st century life styles need to get back to the basics of what God teaches in His words and I believe this book will help bring back God’s flock!

I’m getting an error message about “invalid color space” with the link and cannot read it – but it sure sounds like a great read!!!
