A few years ago I was given a copy of this book from a friend when I was in college. I had been attending 7:22 at Northpoint Church which was led by Louie at the time and heard a message that was the basis of this book. I probably finished the book in a day as it was well written and in the same sort of style as Louie speaks: great truths from God's Word interspersed with humor. But what I remember 5 years later and what drew me to read through the book again was the message that despite this world saying to make much of myself, I'm called to make much of Jesus. Life isn't about me. It's about something much greater!
Louie re-tells the story of John the Baptist who said that he must decrease in order that God may increase. It's incredibly counter-culture but truth nonetheless. Louie goes on to talk about how insignificant we are in comparison to all God has created but also that God calls us to have a unique part in His story. He explains the significance of God calling himself "I Am" and why that means me "i am not". It's humbling. But in order to fully realize who we are, we have to see God in all his glory. Embrace the insignificance and jump head first into God's epic story.
