The God I Never Knew

I enjoyed reading Pastor Robert M. Book. His book is one the best book I have read on the subject of the holy spirit, is easy to read and once you start reading you can put it down.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has question about the Holy Spirit. This book will definitely provide great insight and answer some of the questions that people may have.

Through this wonderful book I probably said "Amen" a hundred times. Growing up in a church that never talked about the Holy Spirit at all I went through a period of "weirdness" whenever the subject of Him came up. As I matured in my faith and grew in the knowledge of God and who He is I experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Immediately I spoke in other tongues. That was 20 years ago. And yet I didn't maintain a real relationship with Him. Over the past 8 years I have "thought" that I had a relationship with Him. But I believe it is about to improve!

Robert Morris did a wonderful job explaining the Holy Spirit. Who He is and how He operates. I love it when I read a book that actually gives me knowledge about the things of my God. Jesus told the disciples that He was going away so another would come and dwell in us, to speak the truth to us, and to direct us. So why do so many believers put Him on the back shelf and never talk to Him or about Him? Pastor Morris tells all the great reasons why we should have a true relationship with the Holy Spirit.

This book can be easily ready by new believers or those who have been believers for a long time. There is plenty of scripture to back up every point that Pastor Morris brings to light. If you would like to know your God in the intimate way that He intended, this book is for you! Don't wait. There is so much truth to be taken from it.

The copy that I have has a study in the back. Which I hope to take the time to work through in the future.

Let it be stated from the outset I am a member of a Pentecostal fellowship (Assembly of God) which believes in the reality of Holy Spirit. That said, my interest was mildly piqued at the idea of reading this book since I felt at this stage that I knew more than enough that a book introducing Holy Spirit would seem a little elementary. I was wrong. The God I Never Knew by Robert Morris is an eye-opening teaching in print about the reality of Holy Spirit and how we as Christians are called to let it play a vibrant, active role in our daily lives. The book is well-written; the reader can see the teacher's heart come out in this work as Morris uses multiple biblical examples and passages to clearly state and explain the points he is trying to get across. I do have issues with the way that Morris explains some of the concepts on Holy Spirit in his teaching. There are a couple instances in "Session One" where I would question the extent to which he exercises interpretation of the Scripture, but these moments do not detract from the overall cohesiveness of teaching a topic which is brand new to some readers and Christians. The God I Never Knew is a good teaching material for both novices and seasoned Christians alike to read for sound, biblical teaching on Holy Spirit. The book's moments where I might question the direction that Morris is taking the reader are quickly alleviated by reading the teaching sections in context. I recommend this book for anyone wishing to learn how Holy Spirit plays a vital role in the Christian life. I received my copy of the book for free from the publisher in exchange for reviewing it. Robert Morris does a wonderful job in this book about describing or identifying the Holy Spirit. It is critical to the believer living the life God intended that we know the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit. The reader will be helped in the basics of knowing the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit. He is not one to be shunned or scared of. He is to be embraced! This book not only explores that, but Robert Morris does a good job of explaining that. I would highly reccommend "The God I Never Knew."

The God I Never Knew is a wonderful book to read and have in your library. This book speaks volume of the Holy Spirit, the reasons we receive the Holy Spirit, and how to develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is also a wake-up call on how we treat the Holy Spirit. This book has life changing and divine insight that brings understanding to us about the third-party of the Trinity. In building a relationship with the Holy Spirit it takes communication, something that is often lacking and little of in a relationship. I would recommend this book to anyone to read not just for pleasure, but for wisdom and understanding.
