A Wreath of Snow by Liz Curtis Higgs is a lovely novella set in Scotland during Victorian times. It is a wonderful story of love, forgiveness, how we hurt ourselves with lies to others and to ourselves, and most of all a story of redemption. Snowbound trains, old grudges, accidents, bitterness, love...this story has it all. The characters are well rounded and I was disappointed when the book ended and I didn't get to read more about them. I loved everything about this little book - except that I wanted it to be longer! A Breath of Snow is a sweet breath of hope for readers who hope for love and forgiveness in their lives. Mrs. Higgs reminds us with this book that both are possible - it's never too late and the situation is never too impossible for God.
