Having been raised by an abusive father in an distinctively anti-Christian household, I felt compelled to read "Mercy Come Morning." Like the main character, Krista, I had moved as far away as possible from my parents when my father was stricken with Alzheimer's. Also, like Krista, I did not visit my father at that time.
Based on my personal life-experience, I found "Mercy Come Morning" to be accurate, relevant and compassionate. Even as the love and mercy I, too, received from Christ that led me to forgive him and show him mercy and love before his demise, so to the story will challenge friends and family of those with the disease to examine their hearts.
I acquired this book free through WaterBrookMultnomah.com in exchange for an honest review.
