At age 18, Bethany Quinn left her emotionally scarred childhood in small town America behind forever. Or so she thought. Ten years later, a series of tragic events draws her from the comfort of her life in Chicago back to her grandfather’s farm in Peaks, Iowa. She must now face the people–and the God–she left behind.

“Wildflowers From Winter” is a gripping story of loss, love, and faith. We have all experienced painful events we would rather forget, and that’s what makes it so easy to relate to this book.

Ganshert’s debut novel reminds us that our hearts can not fully heal until we make peace with the past. Her characters are realistic, and the writing is engaging. I found myself hooked from the beginning, and I’m looking forward to the release of the sequel.

I gave this book a ranking of 4 out of 5.
