I have to admit that I was a bit retecent of this book when I requested to review it.

I am already a big proponent of the local church, and I am actively involved in the building of God's House in my local community, so I originally requested the book to help me in a couple of other ministry opportunities I am involved in.

I didn't think it was going to have an impact on me, but I quickly realized that I was very wrong.

Josh Harris does a fantastic job speaking of exactly why the world still needs the local church. One of the points he makes in the book helped me in so many ways.

"If Jesus loves the church, then so should we."

Simple, I know, but when you REALLY think about that phrase, you realize that the church has to be one of the most important aspects of our Christian existence.

It gives a way for us to speak to those who are not involved in a local church. It reminds us, if we encounter burnout, why we do what we do.

In the book, he also gives those that are not currently in advice on how to choose a church.

This book is a greatreminder for ministry veterans on why we do what we do, but it also helps those new to Christianity to understand why we are so passionate in building the church as well as bringing people to church.

I recommend this book for everyone!!
