Cleaning House by Kay Wills Wyma

This is the story of a mom who realized her children were showing major signs of youth entitlement attitudes and her fight to rid them of it. What follows is a 1 year long experiment with a new task being tackled each month.

The areas covered include :making beds & controlling clutter, cooking, outdoor chores, getting a job, cleaning the bathroom, laundry, handyman, hospitality, a project requiring teamwork, errands, serving others and manners. The year completely changed how her children view work. They found that it was important to turn their focus to others and see how they could serve and in the process became much less self-absorbed.

While my children do chores and quite a bit of work around the house now, I did some area to work on which will give them the experience needed to become competent adults.

I recommend this book.
