Where Lilacs Still Bloom: a Review
I love lilacs! When it came time to choose my next book for blogging for books, Where Lilacs Still Bloom immediately caught my eye. After I read the description, I wasn't so sure I would actually enjoy the book, but I gave it a chance. And I'm so glad I did!
This book is based on a real person, Hulda Klager, a German immigrant living in the Pacific Northwest with her family. While some of the story is centered around Hulda's quest to make her version of the perfect lilac as well as working with other flowers and apples through plant hydridization, my favorite parts were the plots involving the trials and triumphs of her family. There are words of wisdom throughout the book and examples of steadfast faith.
I was provided with a copy of this book for the purpose of this review by Waterbrook Multnomah Press. The opinions given are my own
