Religion - Christian Life
I'm always hesitant when there is an outcome is given in a set number of days. For example, you go on a cabbage soup diet for 7 days and then lose up to 10 lbs. and although Ruth Meyer's book is titled 31 days of Power: Learning to Live in Spiritual Victory - she doesn't give a quick fix at all. Her book points to God's word as a springboard to delve deeper into my study of the God I profess to believe in.
From the introduction, she shares clearly that she's no expert but has definitely found the truths she's learned from God's word over the years, as a missionary overseas, to have been a great source of strength and wisdom. She specifically talks of digging into God's word, daily. As I read her book, I found that I was continually reminded to look back at Jesus and His word, not on my present circumstance or the circumstances that those around me may be facing. I was especially encouraged by the last chapter that focuses on Best Resistance. Here she reminds the reader of our Positive Calling, our Startling Power, and the importance of Prayer.
What a great reminder of the power of Christ in our lives to enable our earthly days. Read the book, you won't be disappointed.
