I love this book! I cried, I laughed, I cried some more, and even got upset at times when Angel was stubborn… LOL and then cried some more with this book. I have read this book like 3 or 4 times and I love it.
My aunt lent me her book to read and from then on Ive been a fan. He books are so amazing and when my husband sees me reading them over hes like didnt you all ready read this. And I say yes but the books are like a good movie you have to watch again and again! Wish someone would make these books a movie!

I read this book years ago, it was given to me on my 21st birthday and at first i thought ‘oh just what i wanted, a bible story, great’ But i actually started reading it and i couldn’t put it down, it was an excellent story, and it was great how Francine intertwined the old times that the story takes place with the present. I also cried, it was a fantastic story
I don’t normally like reading and not many books keep my attention. But I found myself enthralled in it. I would barely put it down. I love the story and how true it is, in the sense that God does love us so deeply. I encourage anyone to read this book. Let it heal you, let it change you.

As a little girl i had no idea what a fathers love was because ours was a single parenthood(our mum)and mum fought hard to ensure that we had food on the table and education although there were so many things we did not enjoy as other children,but this woman(our mum) tried her best to ensure we had a good life. When i first read Francine Rivers redeeming love, ma heart was broken. Broken for little Angel. She had no reason to suffer what she suffered and yet she did. And for once,i really appreciated our mum for being there for us cos she also could have walked away just like Angels mum but she didn’t because she was committed to us.
Greatest book ever loved it loved it that’s the kind of love we should all aspire to have! it is a really great book!

I do not have words to describe what your novel Redeeming Love meant to me. This is the most outstanding valuable script that ever saw the light. I do not think there can be something else that can beat this.
I am so glad you found the freedom in our Almighty Father. This is so true that we have to suffer a big deal before really discover the heart of Father. HIS GREAT BIG ENDLESS AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE… This touched my heart is such ways, I cried a lot – by knowing that I too have this love within me – after years and years of struggling through pain from false people and false circumstances.
The love of Michael for Angel was so unbelievable, except for the fact that this is an example of our Father’s Love.
I also grew up in a Christain home, but that dit not help me in any way. In fact I drew away form the church and walked many unrighteous paths.
After many years of pain in my life, I am not related to a man and sometimes the need wants to overflow me. But I know in Father’s time, and in HIS Will this only will happen. I rely on my Messiah and just believe I will be with HIM for eternity.
In the mean time, I am the servant for my Father, so that HE can use me to work through me. Each day I grow nearer to my Heavenly Father and started to know HIM more and more.

Reading this book has pretty much changed my outlook on life, my future, and Gods plan for me. Starting when I was very young I have been multiply mistreated by men. I thought there would never be a man that loves my soul not just lust for my body, this book has put so much hope, and patience in my heart again.

I have read this book it had me from the beginning of the book til the end of it. I loved this book and want to read more of this Authors writings. The way she writes is very engaging. I loved the main characters in this book, I would have married the Michael Hosea. As many chances as he gave Angel, and the patience he had with her. Well, I don’t want to give it all away..enjoy this read..it is wonderful!

This book was just amazing. I began to realize just how much Jesus loves us through the character of Michael Hosea. And yet we fight it, just like Angel! I highly recommend this book, it is a life-changer.
After I first read this book, I was brought to tears because I could relate so personally to Angel and the situations. Now, I have loaned this book out at least three times and have ended up getting a new copy for myself. It’s a great way to sow into others’ lives. It’s simply a MUST read for anyone!
This book taught me that there is nothing you could ever do to make God love you less. This book opened my heart and showed me that God will provide and that he will always be there to guide me and to protect me even if I turn my back on him. I have read this book 3 times now and I have boughten 4 copies and given them out to my friends! Not only should we share this book to the world, but we should also share this book with God’s unfailing love!!

I borrowed this book originally from a friend in college and had to buy myself a copy. Of all the books I have read this is one that I’ve kept the paperback copy and have read over and over again. Any woman with a past can relate to Angel and dreams of a godly man like Michael. God is with us all the time and no matter what decisions we make. His good and perfect plan prevails despite our stubborn soles. Such an inspiring and encouraging book.
This book changed my viewpoint on changed lives. I work in a ministry where we work to change the lives of women like Angel. This book gave me a whole new perspective on their struggles and how they understand the Lord’s love. I absolutely love this book. We also use this book as part of our curriculum for the students to read when they are nearing the end of our program. I can read this book 100 times and still love it just as much.
This book was what really got me hooked on reading. Redeeming love displays God’s endless love for his children and shows the kind of man God can provide for you. It is entertaining, heartbreaking, intimate, and divine all at the same time. I recommend this book to each and every one of my friends whether they are a guy or girl. Redeeming Love is one of my favorite books of all time! I love the symbolism of Christ’s love for me throughout this book…I laughed and cried all the way through it! This is a MUST read for every woman!

My God Story.

My story starts out like any normal little girl’s. I remember playing with dolls and friends and dreaming of fairy tales and a happy life someday in a family with my own prince charming. I lived in what I thought was a typical family with my mom and dad and older brother in Des Moines Iowa.
My home was not a Christian home, but I do remember going to church once. A friend of mine invited me to Sunday school. I don’t remember any details , but it must have impacted me somehow, because I remember I wished I could go back again.
It’s too bad though, because I never did go again and soon my life took a dramatic turn for the worse.
My normal “little girl” life changed pretty quickly when I was 13 years old. At that young age I had gotten pregnant for the first time. I’ll never forget riding in the back seat of my mothers car to the abortion clinic. When I looked in the her rear view mirror I saw the hatred in her eyes as she drove me there to end my pregnancy. This was not the first time I felt that my mom hated me. She told me she wished I was never born at other times.
By that age I realized there was very little love in my home and constant fighting and arguing. I had begun my search for love.
Sadly, It took me in a very painful direction.
Soon after the abortion I started feeling completely worthless. I started hurting myself in various ways to get “attention” like setting the shoes that I was wearing on fire and sipping rubbing alcohol. I had let down my mother and myself. These feelings got so strong I had wanted to end my life and I made my first serious suicide attempt. I took over 100 antidepressants and went into a coma. Two and a half days later by a miracle of God I woke up and recovered completely. Looking back I now see that God was watching over me even then.
But when I left the hospital things seemed even worse. I was put in a juvenile psychiatric unit for 30 days. When I got out I learned that my parents were divorcing and I would be moving to a small town I had never seen, with my mother. Our relationship was terrible and after a short time in high school I walked out never to return. This was about the time that a woman named Sue had heard of me and started praying.
Of course I was hurting even more then and more desperate for someone to care for me At 16 I met the father of my oldest daughter Kasey and moved in with his parents. She was born when I was 17 years old. This guy introduced me to marijuana and alcohol and I started using it almost everyday/ When we broke up I realized that I could not care for my daughter very well on my own. My mother knew Sue and asked her to talk to me about the situation. I decided it would be better for Kasey if she lived with my mom until I got my life together.
I started drinking and doing drugs a lot just to numb the pain. My life seemed out of control, and with a new boyfriend came another pregnancy and another abortion. During my first abortion I had been put to sleep, but during this one I was fully awake and realized that what I was doing was murder. It was won of the loneliest times of my life.
Not long after this I attempted suicide again by jumping from my boyfriend’s truck that was going over 55 miles per hour. I landed in a ditch injured and bleeding and he just drove away. By now Sue had asked her church to start praying for me and a family from the church drove up to help me. I remember how kind they were to me as they drove me to the hos[ital I was committed and flown handcuffed to a state mental hospital.
When I got to that big lonely place. They observed me and decided I was not mentally ill, but my home life had been extremely dysfunctional. They offered me the chance to get my GED, which is the same as a high school diploma. Thankfully, I agreed because it came very handy later, but at the time I just wanted to do something.
Then on thanksgiving I got so desperate to get out of there that I ran at the first chance I got. I had no shoes or coat but ran across snow covered fields to escape. Eventually I came to a small town nearby and knocked on the first door I came to and asked if I could use their phone! I told the lady who answered the door that my car had broken down and she let me in. I called a guy I had met in the mental hospital and ended up at a hotel with him. He got some me some clothes and shoes, But I got away from him quickly after I realized what he was really after. I started walking and saw a bar, I walked in and asked if they were hiring and they said they were and shortly after that I started my first job as a “stripper”
I had gotten into a world full of money, drugs and violence. And soon I met a guy who would give me all the drugs I wanted. He was in a violent , notorious biker gang. He introduced me to cocaine and many other drugs I wanted. I was using all the time. I saw fights, stabbings, and crime of every kind. I was also very violent myself. During this time I was even given some cocaine laced with embalming fluid by some men who owned a funeral home. This landed me in the hospital again. and once again God spared my life
In the hospital I had learned I was pregnant once again, I was still using drugs and still stripping. For the next month I rarely slept, rarely ate, and did drugs constantly. One night I was dancing in a bar and I got a phone call, I did not recognize the voices on the other end of the line that said, ” Did you put any old men in jail lately?” and “were going to come and pay you a visit”. Then there was a horrible, evil laugh and the phone went dead. That night I got into my car and drove back to my hometown and went to my small apartment. I tried to sleep but my heart was beating to fast.
Now I know that this will sound like a hallucination, but it was as real as you and I are.
I was on my couch when a very bright light suddenly came through my window, In the light was a person that I thought was my old biker boyfriend. He was motioning me to come and I stood up and began walking toward him. I was very drawn to this light, But as I walking a girl appeared with him and I asked him, “you’re with a girl?” and then they started laughing and it was the same evil laugh I had heard on the phone call earlier that night! Then this horrible fear gripped my heart and I realized this was hell I was looking at, and that was where my boyfriend was! I cried out from the depth of my heart, “Help me Jesus!” Now I don’t know why I said that because I didn’t even know who Jesus was but I think now that the prayers of Sue and her church were protecting me. When I said that I was able to to break away from the light and run to my car to drive to my mothers house.
My mother hadn’t seen me for quite awhile and I’m sure she was amazed at how thin I had gotten, with my crooked nose, and my teeth rotting out! Normally she would call the police whenever I showed up but for some reason this time she let me in. I was hysterically crying and I needed to be baptized, because that’s how I thought you got to heaven! My mom called Sue right away, she knew she was a christian.
Sue called her pastor and they met me back at my apartment. Looking back at it I don’t know why they would even show up at my place, but I know it was God moving them to go. I will never forget their kindness and compassion they showed to me in my condition. Even though I blew my cigarette smoke in the pastors face. I was so upset and nervous. Pastor Bob told me about the cross and that Jesus loved me so much that He paid the price for my sins there so I could be in heaven and never fear hell again.
I bowed my head and prayed to receive my savior Jesus into my heart on that February night 1988 . That night I finally found the love I had been searching for, for so long.
That was 21 years ago and I have seen so many miracles since then. First of all I realize it’s a miracle that I’m even alive. Between the overdoses and the suicide attempts I was even pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital once! After putting my faith in Christ I was immediately delivered from drugs and never wanted them again! And six months later my daughter Kaley was born completely healthy without any drugs in her system. We were very concerned about that! But she is a darling healthy almost 21 year old Christian today.
During that early time the church that had prayed for me reached out to me in many ways. Helping me with groceries and bills, and welcoming me into their hearts and homes. Even though the first time I went to church I showed up in my biker jacket and my playboy bunny necklace. By the time way the next day Sue showed up at my house with a cross necklace!
I was eventually baptized there and was able to thank them all for their prayers through the years.
I spent a lot of time with Sue learning about God and she helped me figure out what to do next. I decided I wanted to go to beauty school, but I had no diploma or money. Until I remembered that I had gotten my diploma at the mental hospital. We sent for it and applied for a grant to pay my tuition. We never expected it to come through because all the money had already been awarded however, God did another miracle and awarded me money for tuition, books, room, board, gas money and babysitting ! Something I was told had never happened before!
While I was at beauty school Sue’s parents, the Kruse’s let me live in a condo they owned rent -free. All this time Sue was helping me with all the details.
I soon met a Godly man at bible study and we fell in love. I couldn’t understand why wouldn’t even hold my hand until Sue explained how a Christian relationship should be. We both remained sexually pure until our wedding night.
Eventually, I was able to get my daughter Kasey back home to live with us. She came home on Christmas day when she was five years old. My husband adopted her, and Kaley as his own children. Then our third child Kourtney was born. What a blessing to have my husband by my side and of course Sue was there when she was delivered too.
Words don’t explain the changes God has made in me, In Him I am a new creature, He gave me new birth like those babies I saw in that hospital window so long ago. He heard my cry and gave me a completely new life! I am so amazed that God would care so much for me. His sweet voice speaks to me everyday. My heart is full of gratitude to Him and to the people He has placed in my life as an anchor for my spiritual growth. And I thank them for seeing God’s potential in me.
I am now the owner of my own salon business, I’ve been married for 19 years and were raising our girls to know and love the Lord, And though there have been many difficulties overcoming my past, He has been with me every step of the way. I am so excited for what God has in mind and in store for my family and me. My dreams of happiness came true. I met my prince of my life that I had always longed for, Jesus and HE is the King of my heart and one day I will live in His castle forever.
All praise and glory to Jesus for His faithfulness through all that’s happen to me.
As Sue and I was preparing for me to speak at a conference in Colorado with Chuck Norris, she prepared a short note that was to be read after I spoke, but time did not allow for her to read it.
Then not long after she passed away, I found her note that she tucked in the envelope, which touched my heart tremendously.. I pray it touches your also..

Debi has told you how God took a hold of her life. But I wanted to be able to tell you how through Debi, God has taken hold of my life. Whenever my faith is weak and I begin to doubt God, she will suddenly pop into my mind
and God will remind me that no book, no program, no doctor, no earthly logic brought about the transformation of Deb Walker It was purely the power of Christ’s love and truth that did this miracle. And I think to myself, I have seen a new creation in her, and if God can do that through Christ’s love, then anything is possible! And He restores my faith and strengthens me through what I see Him doing in her. And I’m grateful that I was naive enough to go to her home that first night and be a apart of this amazing work He has done in her life. I’d like to encourage all of you that when the door opens for you to love someone in Christ, don’t just send your pastor over, or refer them to someone else, just go, be a part of something God wants to to do in their life as well as in your own. I know that for most of you your time can sometimes be more of a sacrifice than giving money, but if a Debi walks into your life, the blessings you will receive will far outweigh any sacrifice. And to God be the glory for it all!
Reading redeeming love was very powerful after I gave my life to Jesus.. Its just shows how much God loves us and pursues us with Hid INCREDIBLE love and forgiveness:) I praise the Lord how He is using this incredible story of Love and Forgiveness:)
I first read Redeeming Love in high school, and it affected me so much that I was sent home from school because I literally was sick in the hallway. I went home and spent the rest of the day reading it, and then fell on my face in tears. I now lend my copy to anyone and everyone who shows interest in it.
I was given this book years ago by my mother; it was the best gift I’ve ever received. It showed me how God’s unconditional love truly is, and that He accepts us after innumerable sins and depravity. Michael’s love for Angel is exactly that. God waits for us patiently for us to realize how sinful we really are and return to Him. This is by far my favorite book for all the excitement, romance, and emotion you get from reading this. Definitely can’t put it down once you’ve started

Me and several of my friends (guys included) passed this book around in college a few years ago. We all read it within a few days because you just can’t put it down. I had always loved the book of Hosea, but this book and love story made me love it even more. It shows us how God’s love is redeeming, and there will always be forgiveness no matter what we do. Such an inspiring romance story!
Back in college we used this book loosely as the theme for a ladies’ retreat. I started reading and couldn’t put it down. Love example of unconditional love.
This is one of those books that (if you’re like me) while you read it you become best friends with the characters and are legitimately sad to see them go as you read the last page and close the book.
It is a truly beautiful story. As you read you can get a glimpse of just how much God loves us by watching how Michael loves Angel.

This book rocked my world when I was in the midst of selfishness, pride, and guilt. Along with reading my bible, I was totally and utterly consumed in this story line. I couldn’t get enough of it. Redeeming love was a tool for me to get even closer to my Savior and to even share His love with others. I always keep an extra copy of it and the bible so I can give it to others. Thank you for another tool to use to share Jesus with others.
I first read this book in college, where I fell in love with the characters and story of Michael Hosea and Angel. Not only that, but I fell in love with the original story of Hosea. Such a beautiful picture of God’s love for and pursuit of us. Every time I read it, I end up awake at all hours of the night. It always makes me long for a closer relationship with my Savior. Also, Michael Hosea is a great male lead in a society where there are not a lot of male leads worth admiring! Go read this book now! You won’t regret it

A must read….my favorite book and author!I’ll never read another non christian book….I enjoy being fed while reading….we all have a purpose and are loved…We need to share that with the world!
This book was recommended to me 3 or 4 times during my junior year of college, I never took the initiative to go out and buy it, but my roommate ended up giving a copy to me for a Christmas present. God knew all too well that it was the perfect time to give this gift… I only began to read it when I took it home for Christmas break, and it was on my nightstand, the next couple days were very rough.
My mom who had been struggling with sin and bitterness towards God, decided to get a divorce with my dad of 25 years of marriage. It was a blow to my family… I felt the push on my heart to fast for 2 weeks from food during the day-light hours and eat a supper meal at night and pray fervently for my Mother’s reconciliation, first with God and then hopefully… maybe with my Dad. This time of prayer and refocus on God’s will and plan was followed up with the reading of this book. Those 2 weeks this book fed me with Hope and faith that God can do immeasurably good things to bring himself Glory through us. I ALWAYS recommend this book to anyone, woman or man, christian or a non-believer. Such an amazing story.
Found out about this book in High School and let me tell you … You could not get me to read a book even if you paid me to. With one exception… Redeeming Love. Our entire High School volleyball team read and fell in love with this book and it spread through out the school so fast. I still reread it over and over and have shared it with so many people. I can not tell you how the book will change you and your life, but I know it did mine and it is more than worth spending the time reading. Such a great book that I will continue to love forever.
This is such an incredible book: it is so, so much more than a love story. I have lost count how many times I’ve read it…at least four so far, and I am about to read it again. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, and most importantly it a breathtakingly beautiful portrayal of the redeeming love of Christ for His beloved children, no matter how many times we turn away from him.
I first read this book when I was 16, and it has been in my top favorites ever since (only competing for the top spot with the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers!) It was a remarkable book, and I have recommended it to many friends since. Most notably, I gave the book to my best friend since fourth grade for her 20th birthday. Never before did she have in interest in Christ, but I thought maybe this book would spark something. She called me a few weeks later and said she read it multiple times and loved it! It showed her that God loves us despite our adulterous tendencies. Since then, she has given her life to Jesus and is living her life to His glory. Praise God!!!

This is such a good book and story. It renewed my faith in good, Christian men and reminded me of what an awesome God we serve- a God who puts challenges and opportunities in front of us that are all part of His plan. I couldn’t put this book down, and have re-read it multiple times.
This is my all-time favorite book. I’ve read it several times, and given away numerous copies. I remember the first time I read it .. I couldn’t put it down and it was already 3 am! I really needed to stop and go to sleep! But I kept reading and then all of the sudden, it was like I received this huge revelation of God’s love for me. And very thankful for the book and it’s amazing author, Francine Rivers.

If you haven’t read this book yet,it is a must read. Not only is it a beautiful love story that follows the book of Hosea, but it also shows God’s heart for Israel and His children. Once you get into it, you won’t be able to put it down.
What a wonderful rendition of the Biblical account of Hosea and Gomer! More importantly, what a VIVID picture of God’s unconditional, redeeming love!!
I first read this book almost two years ago. I have read it multiple times. It has inspired me to not give up on my marriage, that no matter how hard I struggle with my husband’s illness, he is still loved by God and by me. This book is phenominal.
All of my girlfriends had spoken so highly of ‘Redeeming Love’ and with me being a hopeless romantic and a sap for love stories, I knew this was going to be my next favorite book. I started it on a long airplane ride to Guatemala on my way to a mission trip and literally could not put the book down. I read it for hours at a time and when I would get any free time, I had my nose buried in ‘Redeeming Love,’ and loved every minute. I was so sad when the book was done because I never wanted it to end!
so she could let her daughter read it. She was incredibly thankful and asked for my name and number so she could let me know what happens with it.
On my flight back to the States, I was sitting by this lady and we began small talk. After some time goes by, I finish up reading my book and I mentioned to her how much I loved it and how every lady should read it. That opened up the door to share with her about the book, how it relates to Hosea in the Bible, and we proceeded to have a wonderful conversation! She shared with me about her teenage daughter (about my same age at the time) and some life choices she was making that her mom was not happy with. I felt led to give her my copy (which was actually my friend’s, so I had to buy her another one too
A few weeks went by and I got a call from a number I didn’t recognize and it ended up being this lady’s daughter! She called to thank me for giving the book to her mom and began to share a little of how it spoke to her. I never heard from that young lady again but I know the Lord used this book to minister to her and her mom, and hopefully plant a seed in their lives.
Redeeming Love is a phenomenal book that makes incredible connections of how Michael Hosea’s love and patience for Angel is related to our Lord’s unconditional love and acceptance of us, despite many flaws. It kept well the actual story of Hosea and Gomer in the Bible, but also provided other exciting elements that a good novel possesses. After many years this book is still my favorite and I often recommend it to other ladies to get blessed by reading.
I love this book! I read it in the summer of 2009, and through reading this book I really understand what’s God’s love was like.
I’ve read the book twice and coming from a heavily abusive background, it’s refreshing every time! Plus I gave a copy to my best friend who does not believe she is “good enough” to know Jesus’ love but after reading the book she called me and said she couldn’t believe the book and so she started reading the bible!
God is working through this creative, warm author! Read Redeeming Love if you’d like to understand more about the story in the first few chapters of Hosea in the Bible, plus so you can learn about God’s unfailing love for you. I was only fourteen or fifteen when I read Redeeming Love (passed from my sister to my other sister to my mom and me to my grandmas!). Now that I’m older and married I’d love to read it again. Oh, and I’d like to try the Promises shoebox!
Amazing book! After I read this book I gave it to my neighbor to read. Her husband read it next because he wanted to read for himself why we were so consumed with this book. I highly recommend this book and Francine RIvers!

I actually JUST re-read this book for the third time last month. I love this book. It is a wonderful example of God’s love for us no matter what we have done! We are always worth it in God’s eyes!!
I read Redeeming Love years ago, and have since read most of Francine Rivers’ other books. She is an excellent author who brings stories I always heard of to life and makes you think. God is definitely at work through her. I re-read this book continuously to remind myself of God’s redeeming love, in different stages of my life.
This book has changed some perspectives on life for me! When I first read it, the girl who recommended it to me told me to read it once and be infatuated with Michael Hosea and read it again to realize that’s Jesus! It is a book I will continue to reread. Fabulous!

I believe every woman should read this book! It’s really amazing. What a beautiful story!! Really life impacting. I’ve recommended it to so many people and bought it for a friend and will continue that. Sometimes we need to just chill out and accept God’s love, quit trying to make every other love in our life perfect and accept His perfect love!
This book is great! A friend recommended it when I was going thru a rough time. It really was a great reminder of how much God loves us. No matter what we do and how many times we go against Him.. He still loves us and is waiting, ready to forgive us and welcome us back with open arms.
I’m a huge Francine Rivers fan. This was the first book of hers that I read and fell in love with her writing. I encourage all to read this story for a true blessing.
Francine Rivers has become my favourite author and so far every book that I have read of hers has really captivated my imagination immensely. Redeemimg Love I started reading Saturday 7th and was put down on Monday 9th of April 2012. Her writing is so well done that one cannot help being involved with every character in her novels to the degree of taking sides or shedding a tear even if one is a male. Well cowboys do not cry as they say, but not in front of their horses. Francine to the Christian community you are a true inspiration and very spiritually gifted. Shalom and God bless you.
Redeeming love brought me to tears many times! Redeeming Love has so many redemptive illustrations,pictures unconditional love and moments that take your breathe away.I have offered this book twice now in our church bookclub and it has been a powerful time of discussion regarding the Lord Jesus being our Redeemer.
I know you have heard it many times. But Redeeming Love is one of the very best books i have ever read. I wept openly the entire last few chapters. the depth of understanding what it means to be a child of God was incredible. What a wonderful work God is doing thru you.
